Referrals
We receive referrals from various agencies. About 80% are from General
Practitioners and rest of the referrals are from the police, Accident
and Emergency Department, Probation officers or relatives. We encounter
special problems and difficulties in dealing with multicultural and
multi-faith communities in Southall. It is mainly due to the cultural
and religious beliefs and linguistic background of the clients. In order
to provide the service to such diverse community, it is vital to understand
their background, migration and lifestyle. Hopefully, I will aim to
elaborate more on this issues in my next article. Till then bye!!
